Out/back ride on the Presidential Rail Trail 9:30 am B/1/20

Tuesday, August 9, 2022

Looks like the forecasts indicate that we can ride this morning. Worth a try, the temperature is not as hot and it is cloudy which will ease the heat stress.

I have friends visiting and they are eager to ride, so I am setting this up for all to join in.  We can hope the forecast is correct! An out-back ride that is downhill all the way back to the car will allow us to get back easily should the weather change.

This ride is very scenic, quiet and easy, a good break from the hectic valley and the hot weather.

The ride will be out/back on the Presidential Rail Trail starting from the parking lot on Route 2 in Gorham. The ride will be followed by ice cream at Scoggin's.

Meet at the parking lot at 9:30 am. Lets plan to ride up for 10 miles to Randolph then enjoy the 10 mile cruise back down.

To get to the parking lot, drive north on Route 16 to Gorham. Take a left to get onto Route 2/16 through the town, then another left at the lights onto Route 2 west. In just about a mile, the rail trail parking lot will be on the right. It is long and narrow with a fence separating it from the rail trail.
