A Tour de Tamworth hosted by Rachel 9:30 am
Tuesday, July 19, 2022
The weather looks fine for a ride! The storms and this wonderful rain will end before 8:00 am. The rivers and streams should be running full again!
For this Tuesday, Rachel will lead another of her great tours of the dirt and paved roads of Tamworth. This is a different route from what we have typically done. Starting on Great Hill in the Hemenway State Forest, it winds to the west and will go through a scenic covered bridge.
Meet Rachel at the parking lot at the top of Great Hill Road. Here is how to get there:
Heading south on Route 16, go past Chocorua Lake and into the village. Take a right onto Page Hill Road and head into Tamworth Village. Go straight into the village, go past The Other Store. Just after the Barnstormer's Theater, take a right onto Great Hill Road. Go to the top and there is a parking lot for the trail that goes up to the tower. It is about a 45 minute drive from Glen.
Meet up there, ready to ride, at 9:30 am.
Bring snacks or lunch to enjoy along the way.
The bike club's ride code for this is B/3/15 (casual pace, no drop/rolling hills w/occasional long or steep/15 miles)

Tamworth has hills, this means some climbing, but also means spectacular views and pleasant downhills. Take your time, enjoy the scenery and Rachel's knowledge of this area!
