Honoring Jane Steffen with a Brownfield Ride 9:00 am Code B/2/22
Tuesday, July 6, 2021
The "Tuesday D&P Ride" will combine with the "Tuesday Tooling Ride" as a tribute to Jane Steffen. Jane lived in Brownfield near Sam Brown Hill, so the ride will honor her by traveling along the scenic roads that she loved.
July 6th was Jane's birthday, so biking together for Jane, on her birthday, in her home town all just fits beautifully.
This ride is on pavement, so any bike will do fine.
We will meet a the Maine Visitor's Center on Route 302 in Fryeburg, at the ME-NH border. The ride goes up Haleytown Road, out into Brownfield Center via Hampshire, then turns onto Pig Street. We will visit the shore of Burnt Meadow Pond along the way. We will also enjoy the view from Sam Brown's Hill, so we have both a pond view and a mountain view to honor Jane. We head back via Hampshire and Haleytown Roads.
Total distance: 22 miles. Ride Code B/2/22
Meet, ready to ride at 9:00 am
Add 8 more miles by doing the bike path out and back for a nice 30 miler.
