The 2019 Dirt and Pavement Rides will commence on Tuesday May 7th!! ...Weather permitting, of course! Check this blog site on Sunday nights for the Tuesday ride details.
The ride on May 7th will likely be on the Presidential Rail Trail (which of course you all know is a part of the Cross New Hampshire Adventure Trail), starting in Gorham heading west to Randolph. Details will be posted on Sunday night. For this ride a mountain bike is a good choice of steed.
The trail is in good condition. The railroad surveyors and engineers designed the railbed to resist mud season. A hundred years have passed, but the trail still persists! If it does not rain too much before Tuesday, biking should be great!
Dancer and his rider Michael accompanied me on the Presidential Rail Trail on Monday to check out the conditions after the winter's wear. What a thrill to ride side by side with the horse, who kept pace with me:

An Away Dirt Ride worth considering!
Central Vermont Cycling Tour, "The Original Gravel Grinder"
Sunday, June 30
Morse Farm, East Montpelier, VT
Perhaps you might be interested in a well-organized and supported dirt road ride in the Montpelier, Vermont area?
I have done this ride twice and will go back for more. It is on surprisingly pleasingly smooth surfaced Vermont dirt roads, choice of 15, 33 or 60 miles. It is hilly, very scenic, a challenge, has well stocked rest stops along the way, includes an excellent picnic buffet and a maple creemee at the end.
This ride occurs on the last Sunday of June at the Morse Farm located a few miles northeast of Montpelier. This year the date is June 30th. It is benefit ride for the Cross Vermont Trail.
